GIS Course Introduction

The following video was used in my JMU classes, not specifically designed for this website.

Goals of the Course

  • Understand basic concepts and applications of GIS;

  • Learn the different type of spatial data, including:

    • Aerial photos;

    • Census Tiger Data;

    • Satellite image;

    • GPS;

    • LiDAR

  • Learn how to manage, edit and analyze spatial data;

  • Design and create static or interactive maps in ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
