Data Visualization Course Introduction

The following video was used in my JMU classes, not specifically designed for this website.

Goals of the Course

Upon completion of this course, students are expected to

Identify and assess the ethical and legal issues related to using data visualizations.
Learn different data visualization methods and their strengths and weaknesses for:
- Numerical Data
- Categorical Data
- Spatial Data
- Social Network Data
- 3D Data.
Create visualizations in a variety of formats and identify their limitations using Tableau, Gephi, Virtual Reality, and other software packages
