Big Data Course Introduction

The following video was used in my JMU classes, not specifically designed for this website.

Goals of the Course

Upon completion of this course, students are expected to

  • Understand the foundational AWS services, including Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), and Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3).

  • Learn about cloud-based AWS Big Data solutions, including Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS), AWS Redshift, and Amazon EMR.

  • Understand different data visualization methods and use QuickSight to explore and query data.
